NYX Dusty Rose blush and Essie Cashmere Bathrobe nail polish

It’s that time of the month again. Saying goodbye to October and going through my most-loved makeup bits and pieces. Beauty wise, October was ‘going out of my comfort zone’ month and I was feeling rather experimental for once. I got introduced to using lip liners (was I living under a bloomin’ rock – this stuff is life changing!), I started layering under eye concealers and the obsession with glitter nails has been rekindled. Yep, it was a fun month. Let’s dive into it, shall we?

The first highlight of the month comes from the blush department and it’s in the form of the gorgeous NYX Dusty Rose blush (here). It’s no secret that illuminating blushes and I go way back, especially during the colder months, but Dusty Rose somehow managed to capture my heart and I am actually in love with its beautiful matte finish. The shade is downright amazing and perfect for autumn - complexion warming dusky pink? Yes please! I adore everything about the silky soft, insanely rich pigmentation of this gem as well. All that’s needed for full-blown coverage is one light dab of the brush and you are done. The good thing about Dusty Rose is that it could be build up or sheered out for more natural flush of color and I have been sporting both looks religiously. My favorite part about the blusher though has to be the longevity – the stunning rosy color hangs around for some good eight hours without fading. Impressive, right?

My stress and anxiety levels have been quite present recently, which resulted in some serious sleep deprivation and you know what this means – having world’s biggest and darkest under eye circles! Not a cute look, so I needed to find something to help me look semi-appropriate. I found a life changing lil’ trick and the results are marvelous! I like to apply a tiny bit of my trusty Benefit Erase Paste Concealer (here) first and then pop some brightening concealer on top. Due to its peachy / salmon-y undertones Erase Paste counteracts the purple-y blue dark circles perfectly and serves as corrector. Its extremely high coverage conceals everything nicely as well and in combination with your favorite brightening concealer it lightens up the area beautifully and stays put for the day. I just make sure that I use the tiniest bit - a little goes a long way, plus cakey under eye area is always a no-no.

As I’ve mentioned, lip liners and I are now best friends and there is no going back. They define the lips seamlessly and help the lipstick stay on for some extra hours, which I cannot say no to. As I’ve been feeding my newly born obsession, I stumbled across these lovely Essence Cosmetics Lip Liners and I had to pick a few shades up. These little gems are cheep as chips and are actually dreamy. They are supers soft and smooth, apply easily without dragging or drying out the lips and they do prolong the wear of any lipstick I pair with them. Score. The shades I got my mitts on are: Wish Me A Rose (beautiful nude rosy pink), Cute Pink (stunning medium toned pink-y red), Honey Berry (gorgeous fuchsia berry, which I think is my fave of the bunch), Satin Mauve (nude-ish mauve with slight purple undertones) and Soft Berry (brownish nude with berry hues, see it in action here). All shades are to die for, so definitely get involved with these – they do measure up to the higher end offerings and will keep your wallet happy.

Since the colder weather graced us with its presence my lips have been feeling extra dry and my favorite NUXE Reve de Miel (review here) didn’t seem to be able to handle the situation properly. After having a good rummage through my stash, I dug out the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine (here), which I used to absolutely adore back in the day. It instantly hydrated and nourished my lips and it’s now living on my bedside table and I also got one to throw into my purse for when I am out and about. I dose up my lips with this heavenly smelling gem and all dry patches and flakes are nowhere to bee seen. The lip butter softens my lips amazingly and I love how comfortable and moisturized they feel, even on the coldest day. Jasmine adds a light veil of nude tint to my lips and the gorgeous juicy finish is possibly the best part.

Essie stoke yet again (do they even have one bad nail polish?!). Cashmere Bathrobe (here) has been my favorite nail lacquer companion this month and I love everything about it. The name, the formula and mostly – the fab dark grey shade. The subtle crystal shimmer is the perfect finishing touch and makes the polish that much more special. Cashmere Bathrobe is one of those shades that make you feel extra sophisticated and add chic to any A/W outfit. The wider user-friendly brush makes the application a breeze and the longevity left me quite impressed. Full review is coming your way veeeeery soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
