Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Hello loves! How are you, hope all is well and you had a fab weekend! The summer sales have kicked in and I couldn’t resist so I did a little bit of shopping the past couple of days. Opps! If you’re interested to know what I got please let me know and I’d love to haul everything for you! :) Now for the exciting part, the product that I’ll be reviewing for you today is one of my Holy Grail beauty goodies and it is Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter ($16.89 for 1.5 oz.  or £6,25 for 50g.).

I get asked a lot on my NOTD posts how I maintain such nice cuticles so there you go ladies and gentlemen – Lush Lemony Flutter actually does it all for me! (: About two years back I had a lot of problems with both my nails and cuticles so I was searching the Internet for some reviews on great cuticle treatments. The one that most of the people suggested was this butter from Lush. Back then I wasn’t such a Lush addict so I wasn’t expecting much but still decided to give it a go. As per usual, I couldn’t be more wrong and I not only LOVED Lemony Flutter straight away but also it is now a firm part of my nail care routine!

Lemony Flutter comes in the typical black Lush jar and it has some instruction on how to use the product as well as the full list of ingredients at the back. There is also an illustration of the lovely Kamila, which made my product (these always intrigue me so much for some reason haha). One jar of Lemony Flutter contains 50g. / 1.5 oz., which at first seemed like not much product but it actually turned out to be pretty economical and a little goes a long way! The cuticle butter expires for approximately one year and to be honest I am not able to finish the jar during that time, even though I use it every single day. :)

Even though Lemony Flutter is labeled as “cuticle butter”, it is also great to use on any other dry bits of your body like your knees, elbows and heels. It actually really does work wonderful, which I love, plus you know I am a sucker for such multifunctional products so this is definitely a winner! (: As for the actual cuticles, it is absolutely amazing too. I religiously use this every night and I just rub a little bit of product into the areas I want and then let the product sit. When I wake up in the morning my skin is SO smooth and deeply moisturized and the cuticles are so much more supple. It is actually amazing how this stuff works and how it transforms my hands overnight! (: Lemony Flutter has a very thick buttery consistency and it feels super rich. The product has so much beneficial ingredients in it such as Shea butter, mango butter, beeswax and cold-pressed avocado oil as well as tons of other great oils, so it comes as no surprise to me how brilliant it is! <3

As much as I adore how soft and smooth this makes my cuticles, there are a few small drawbacks to Lemony Flutter that I’d like to mention. The biggest turnoff for me is the scent! Even thinking of it now makes me sick… It has such strong, overpowering zesty lemon scent that even though it initially feels fresh is just too much for me. I love citrusy scents but this one has weird undertones to it and it’s just too strong. Sadly, it does linger for hours, which is even worse! Despite the horrendous smell though I absolutely love this product and I won’t stop using it but it would just be great if Lush do something about it… I know that some people enjoy Lemony Flutter’s smell so don’t be scared, just go ahead and give it a sniff in the store! :) What I am also not too fond about this product is that it is a bit greasy. Even though I work the butter well into my skin it takes ages to absorb and it definitely leaves a greasy feel. This is understandable having in mind the impressive amount of oils the product has in it, but this is why I use this only at night! (: One last thing that may be important for some of you is that Lemony Flutter is NOT virgin!

So beauties, this is all I have to say about Lemony Flutter. This miracle worker makes my cuticles soft, smooth and hydrated and it is definitely a must-have for me! Even though I cannot stand the overpowering scent and I am not crazy about the greasy feeling this leaves, I would without a doubt continue repurchasing and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re battling dry, chapped cuticles or flaky skin! :)

Have you tried Lemony Flutter before? What do you think of it? Which is your favorite cuticle treatment?

Lots of love,

  1. I always forget to take care of my cuticles. I have products, I just hate doing that or forget to do it. I might give it a go with this product if I like the smell. I will definitely go in a lush store to smell it.
Have a nice day Andrea :*

  2. you always put so much effort into your photos, like with the lemon. Love your blog xx

  3. Brilliant pictures! I love that you've put the lemon with them!
I'd definitely like to see a haul of all your sale buys too!

  5. This sounds really good. I get so frustrated that my cuticles are not very good and hand cream doesn't seem to do the trick! x

  6. This sounds amazing. I really want to try it too!
I dont use a specific cuticle cream, i just apply a generous amount of hand lotion.

I'd also love to see what you've been purchasing!!

  9. my blogger buddy (and friend) Carrieanne loves all things Lush and has recently got me in to it too, i didn't even used to like walking past the store as the smell was soooo strong but after the few little treats Carrieanne has given me to try from Lush i will definitely be visiting the store on our shopping trip on Friday, i will make sure i try this out.

  10. I don't think I would pay the "LUSH price" for a cuticle cream but I love the smell of lemons! :)

  11. This looks to die for!! And your photography always amazes me!! Great post!

    XOXO ♥ Kia

  12. I haven't tried this particular cuticle butter, but as I love LUSH products, I can imagine that this one is amazing! When it comes to cuticle treatments, I use the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Has a lemon smell, but it isn't at all overpowering and the smell doesn't last. My cuticles aren't in bad shape to begin with, so for me it is really about maintenance, but I love how natural it is! x

  27. I love the fact that you don't have to just use this on your cuticles. Such a shame about the scent being too strong!

  28. sounds really nice and interesting. However, if the scent is too strong . I wouldn't buy it at all

  29. I love this but havent been able to afford a replacement haha! I actually like the strong scent too

  30. Great review and beautiful pictures. You seriously take the best pictures :)
It's good to hear that this is a multi tasker. I'll have to check this out in stores to see if the scent bothers me but other than that it sounds like a great treatment to use at night!

  31. Just received this product today and put some on cuticles. The scent (a funky sorta lemony, old wax smell) was so overpowering it was making me queesy and had to scrub twice to get most of the scent off. I then slathered Solar Oil (love the faint almond scent) and Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream on to try to cover up that smell. Even then, I got whiffs of it. I'm sure it is a terrific cuticle cream, but wish it had the wonderful real lemon scent that the Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream has.
